Some Things Are Not Meant To Hold II
‘Some Things Are Not Meant To Hold II’ is a hymn to summer. To the smell of lavender, to the sanderling, for Rose. To know that some things are not meant to hold.

Some Things Are Not Meant To Hold
‘Some Things Are Not Meant To Hold’ is a hymn to spring. To the blossom of the blue anemone, to the hummingbird. To break wide open like a wave, to let in change. To rise and fall like the tides, to know that some things are not meant to hold.

Limerence
‘Limerence’ is an album dedicated to the brokenhearted - for those whose hearts aren’t mirrored. The songs together are manifold, insisting on the variety of emotions that arise when you have a broken heart but at the same time do not see yourself as broken.
Sonically, the album deals with softness and hardness. It weaves these two together to create tension and release. Throughout the album whispering voices, field recordings, strings, and hard cold beats create the foundation for different feelings to unfold.

Touch
The album came into being as an interest in the relations between art and mental illness. Focusing on texture and tactility, I wanted to put into music how it feels to be a person living with a mental illness.
I wanted to give mental illness a place in art focusing on everyday life, on texture and tactility. To touch and be touched. To get in touch, to lose touch and be out of touch. To feel something rough or smooth, soft or hard.
Lyrically, the album centres on different situations throughout everyday life like that of letting your hand slip through the grass, looking at an object break, following how the seasons change and how it feels to be alienated from yourself and your surroundings.
Sonically, the album dives into different sounds and how they sound. Trying to create room for the sounds to unfold and merge into each other creating new sounds. Throughout the album sounds of water, strings, piano and vocals are weaved together changing meaning in relation.

Ties
The EP is made as an appreciation of friendship. The movements in and out of each other’s life. The shared moments, the listening, the talking, the everyday life. The holding of rooms. Some of the songs dive into how friendships are created and how ties unfold, while others centre around how these ties can be broken or change their form.
Sonically the EP centres around the bow. How objects played with the bow can be merged and morphed. Throughout the EP sounds of violin, cello, double bass, and synth are weaved together creating a patchwork of sound. Simplicity has been a key theme as the song has been created. Each sound has equal weight in the compositions. The compositions are kept short and together they create a line of thought on how we grow with each other.

Sowing Worlds
‘Sowing Worlds’ came into being as an interest in transformation and transition. An interest in creating and holding room for feelings and emotions. A room for leaving behind certain ways of being in the world and creating new ones. A room for care for oneself and others. A wish for connection and complexity. For planting a seed and letting it grow over time.
Sonically, the album focuses on merging electronic and acoustic sounds, played and programmed, song and sound. Field recordings have been a focus both as a way of creating a room as well as the source of the sound. Throughout the album sounds of water, bats in the night, birds, double bass, violin, acoustic guitar, synth, and modular synthesis are twisted and twined together. A phoenix cyclically reborn in flames.

Shapes ‘Shapes’ came into being as an interest in dreams. Based on a dream diary, the pieces were shaped and reshaped. Each piece is an exploration of how the shapes of dreams can be turned into music.
The album unfolds different aspects of dreaming. It picks up threads from fragments of dreams, notes from trembling night walks, and thoughts on how daily life grows into dreams, and weaves them together as an unfinished map to be explored and expanded in your hands.
Throughout the album sounds of double bass, birds, waves, people talking, percussed metal pipes, vibrators, and sirens are morphed and merged into each other, changing over time. The album moves between what is known and what is unknown, it aims for connections and complexity, balancing repetition and renewal, acoustic and electronic, song and sound.

For Marta ‘For Marta’ is an appreciation of friendship. A body of variations curling, stretching, and changing meaning in relation. Inspired by circularity and a break with linear narratives.
Based on how the Moon orbits the Earth, a cycle of waxing and waning, the piece unfolds. It centers around how everything is appearing, disappearing, and reappearing. The movement of waves kicking in and morphing characteristics of a dream.
It is an invitation for you to join in and create your version. An invitation to listen to how connections can be created, crossed over, and fall apart. Like drawing dots between stars in the evening sky. Press shuffle and repeat. Start and stop as you please. For Marta.

Tides 'Tides' is an appreciation of tides and the transience of all things. Inspired by the rise and fall of the sea, how things appear, disappear and reappear, change in and out of form.
Change is the only constant in life and the awareness of this can be bittersweet. Each piece focuses on different aspects of how everything is shaped and reshaped. Sounds like metallic birdcalls, arrhythmic heartbeats, disrupting foghorns, and cold winds continue to rise and fall, always changing just slightly.
Focusing on transformation and transition, the album unfolds and balances between repetition and renewal, acoustic and electronic, song and sound. An opening for listening to change, not as a development, but as a process of becoming.
The album is accompanied by a booklet designed by graphic design team Office Hours. An offset print on 150g paper, the booklet contains a description of the album, lyrics for the tracks and photographs from Northwest Jutland taken by Alto Aria. The booklet comes with an album download code.
